Access Control Management (Operate Basic Security Equipment) (OBSE)

Access Control Management (Operate Basic Security Equipment) (OBSE) is one of the compulsory Security Officer course. Exisiting Security Officers (SOs) need to pass this course by December 2025 to retain their Security Officer rank. This course aims to equip Security Officers with the essesntial knowledge and skills to operate basic security equipment such as access control and closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitoring equipment.

Security Officers

Learning outcomes:

  • Operate access control equipment to identify access points of entry for different levels of authorised entries
  • Operate alarm monitoring equipment to report locations of unauthorised entries
  • Operate CCTV monitoring equipment to identify the nature of unauthorised entries

Entry Requirements

  • Minimum Secondary 2 education or equivalent; or
  • Able to read, write, speak and understand English at WPL Level 3

*Individuals not meet the entry requirements will be subjected to an interview before acceptance.

Course Duration (incl ast)

  • Day 1: 8.30am – 5.30pm (Classroom Training Hours)
  • Day 2: 8.30am- 2.30pm (Classroom Training Hours)
  • Assessment (Day 2): 2.30pm start (2 hours)

Assessment:

The assessment will be conducted by POLWEL assessors.

Certification:

WSQ Statement of Attainment issued by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)
